Connecting your Outlook Calendar

Connect your own Microsoft account so your Outlook Calendar events show in Astalty and the events you create in Astalty are sent to Outlook.

How to find the Calendar Integration

Select your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu, then My Profile. The Integrations and Calendar tabs appear only on your own profile, so each user connects their own Microsoft account.

Setting Up the External Calendar Integration

Select Integrations, then Connect under Microsoft Integration. The Google Integration card below it connects a Google Calendar instead. See Connecting your Google Calendar.

Choose the Microsoft account to connect and sign in.

Accept the permissions Microsoft asks for. Astalty needs to read and write your calendars and read your basic profile and email address. If any of these is not granted, the connection fails and you need to select Connect again.

Microsoft may instead say that approval is required. Some organisations only let Microsoft 365 users connect apps their IT administrator has approved. Ask your IT administrator to approve the app, then connect again.

Once the connection succeeds, select Configure your Microsoft Integration. Astalty opens your Calendar tab so you can choose which Outlook calendars to show and your main calendar. See Seeing Your External Calendar In Astalty.

Reconnecting or Disconnecting

If the connection stops working, Astalty emails you and shows a notification, and the Microsoft Integration card shows Invalid. Select Reconnect and sign in again. Reconnecting keeps your calendar choices and main calendar. While the connection is invalid:

• Your Outlook events do not load in the Astalty Calendar.
• Events you create in Astalty are not sent to Outlook, including after you reconnect.
• Edits and deletions you make in Astalty are not sent to Outlook.

To remove the connection, select Disconnect on the card and confirm. Astalty then stops showing your Outlook calendars, clears your main calendar if it was an Outlook calendar, and stops sending events to Outlook. Events already in Outlook stay there, and your Astalty events stay in Astalty. If the card shows Invalid, select Reconnect instead of disconnecting.
