Team Member Birthday Notification

Overview

Within the Notifications menu item create Team Member Birthday Notifications, listed as Birthdays in the Team group. This will give you a notification via email or within Astalty for when a team members birthday is coming up.

Birthdays come from the Date of birth on each user's profile, so users without one are never included, and deactivated users are skipped. Only Admins can open Notifications and create, edit, clone or delete these notifications. This can't be changed per user.

Creating a Team Birthday Notification

On the Team Member Birthday Notifications page, click Create Notification. A new notification starts at 7 days before, with Within Astalty and Email both ticked.

Selecting the Notification Period

Enter the Period (1 to 365) and choose on the day, days before or weeks before the birthday. The Period field is disabled for on the day.

Astalty checks once a day, at about 9:30am Brisbane time. In a year that isn't a leap year, a 29 February birthday is treated as falling on 28 February.

Notification Email Content

Following the time period, write any content you'd like added to the email. The Email Preview shows the standard message your content sits under.

The email subject is Birthday Notification for followed by the team member's name, and the email has a View User button. The in-app notification is titled Birthday Notification and links to their profile.

Notification Recipients

Select at least one recipient: one or more User Groups, or individual Users. Every group is offered, including Support Worker and All Users.

Notification Type

Choose how the notification is sent: Email, Within Astalty, or both. At least one is required.

Editing a Team Member Birthday Notification

The list shows each notification's timing under When, its Delivery methods and its Recipients. Click a row, or click the 3 dots to the right of the entry and select Edit, to open the notification. The same menu has Clone, to start a new notification from this one, and Delete.
