Adding Centre Capital Costs

Overview

You can create a Centre Capital Cost charge automatically on a direct or group support that uses automatic charging. You need access to Scheduling, permission to create or update the support, and a Centre Capital Cost Charge Item configured on the Charge Item Set used by every affected Participant.

How to Add Centre Capital Costs

1. Open Scheduling from the main menu and click Add Shift.
2. Choose Direct Support or Group Support.
3. Complete the Participant, worker, time, and service details.
4. Under Service & Billing, choose Automatic Charges and select a Charge Item Set that contains a Centre Capital Cost Charge Item. For a group support, confirm this for every Participant's set.
5. For a group support, tick This group support includes Centre Capital Costs. For a direct support, open Additional Charges & Centre Capital and tick This support includes Centre Capital Costs.

6. Save the support. Astalty creates an automatic charge for the duration expressed in the Centre Capital Cost Charge Item's unit. For an hourly item on a four-hour group support, each Participant receives a four-unit charge against their own selected set.

Billing Options

• Automatic Billing: the charge stays in step with the support's realised charge intervals. Support Time Segments do not change which Centre Capital Cost item is used, and No charge segments do not remove this separate charge.
• Alternative Billing: leave the Centre Capital Cost option off and add the required Charge Item as an Additional Charge, or use Manual Charges. Those manual lines do not track later time changes automatically.

Will Centre Capital Costs automatically be added to a support?
No. The option must be selected on the support.

Does Centre Capital Costs bill automatically based on support hours?
Astalty calculates the quantity from the support's charge intervals using the Centre Capital Cost Charge Item's unit. For a group support, it creates a separate charge for each Participant.

Can you add Centre Capital Costs to one-on-one supports?
Yes. Centre Capital Costs can be added to one-on-one supports delivered in a centre.

What if I want to bill Centre Capital Costs differently from the scheduled hours?
Use an Additional Charge or Manual Charges to enter a quantity independently of the support's calculated duration.
