App Notifications

Overview

The Astalty App provides push notifications for various actions that may have occurred to the shifts that are assigned to a support worker. This guide contains a brief overview of the current notifications that a support worker may receive.

Viewing App Notifications

Open App Notifications

Notifications can be viewed in more detail by tapping on the notification that appears on your device. Doing so will navigate you to the appropriate page within the app relating to the notification that you tapped on. You can adjust where these notifications will appear on your device, based on your set up within your device's Notification settings.

App Notification Count

The Astalty app will display a badge count of the amount of unread app notifications on the app itself.

The Notifications Page

The app includes a dedicated Notifications page so support workers can review the push notifications they've received, even after the alert has been dismissed from their device.

Opening the Notifications Page

The Notifications page is accessed from the Profile tab. A bell icon appears in the top-right of the Profile screen, with a red badge showing the number of unread notifications (it shows 99+ once you have more than 99). Tap the bell to open the page.

Reading Your Notifications

Notifications are listed in chronological order and grouped by the day they were received — Today, Yesterday, and then the full date for anything older. Each entry shows the notification's title, a short description, and the time it arrived.

Notifications that relate to something you can open — such as a shift, an availability request, a chat, or a record that needs your attention — show a chevron on the right. Tapping one takes you straight to the relevant area in the app. Notifications that are informational only don't have a chevron and can't be tapped.

Clearing Notifications

Tapping the tick icon in the top-right of the Notifications page lets you clear your notifications. This resets the notification badge and dismisses notifications on your device — but your history stays available on the Notifications page, so nothing is lost.

If you haven't received any notifications yet, the page will show No notifications yet.

Troubleshooting

Not Seeing App Notifications?

If you are not seeing these notifications, check your push notification settings on your device to ensure that Astalty App notifications are switched on to always show.

If after checking your notification settings are set up correctly the issue still persists, you may need to try logging out and then logging back into the Astalty app. And if that doesn't resolve it, please reach out to support@astalty.com.au
