Available Document Template Placeholders

Add a Template Placeholder wherever a generated document should use information from Astalty, such as a Participant's name or your organisation's details. When you generate the document, Astalty replaces the Placeholder with the matching value.

The template's Usage Type determines which Placeholders are available. The lists below are grouped into Participant, Service Agreement, and User templates.

Contact placeholders match the relationship exactly

The Representatives & contacts Placeholders use the Participant Contact whose relationship is recorded as Primary Contact, Emergency Contact, Plan Nominee, or Child Representative. The wording must match exactly. For example, Child Rep will not match Child Representative.

If no active Contact matches, the generated document leaves the related Placeholders blank. If more than one active Contact has the same relationship, Astalty uses one of them. Check the generated document before you send or finalise it.

Each relationship also has a Consent To Share Information Placeholder, such as ${Participant_PrimaryContact_ConsentToShare}. It uses the matching Contact's consent to share information setting and shows Yes, No, or Not set. It is blank when there is no matching Contact. The Contacts menu in a generated document shows the same choice as Consent to share given or Consent to share not given.

Information Item Placeholders

Participant and Service Agreement templates can use your account's Participant Information Items. Each Information Item Placeholder fills with the detail recorded for that Participant. It is blank when no detail is recorded.

They only work in an Astalty Template, not a Word document.
Insert them from the Placeholder list in the template editor. Typing the displayed Placeholder text by hand will not connect it to the Information Item.
They are specific to your account, so they do not appear in the general list below.
Renaming an Information Item updates the placeholder in your templates. If an Information Item is deleted, its placeholder generates as blank.

Primary Coordinator Placeholders

The Primary Coordinator placeholders read the Participant's Primary Coordinator. If the Participant has none, they are left blank.
