Private Browser Window
Overview
There may be times when you need to open a private browser window to view Astalty or a form within Astalty. This allows you to keep Astalty logged in via your normal browser session, but then by using a Private Browser window you can open Astalty via a different logged in account, or when using links to external forms where you do not want to be logged in to complete them.
This guide will provide instructions for access private browser windows in both Chrome and Edge
Open Incognito mode within Chrome
Here are the steps for opening Chrome's Incognito mode:
On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, select the 3 dot menu (More) and then New Incognito window.
Once selected, a new window opens. On the right of the address bar, you’ll find the Incognito icon.
To open an Incognito window, you can use a keyboard shortcut:
Windows, Linux, or Chrome OS: Press Ctrl + Shift + n.
Mac: Press ⌘ + Shift + n.
Open InPrivate window within Edge
You can open an InPrivate window in different ways:
Select and hold (right-click) the Microsoft Edge logo in the taskbar and select New InPrivate window.
In Microsoft Edge, select and hold (right-click) a link and select Open link in InPrivate window.
In Microsoft Edge, select Settings and more > New InPrivate window.
Close Private Browser
If you browse on an Private window and you open another one, your private browsing session continues in the new window. To exit the browsers Private mode, close all Private windows.
To close a Private window:
On your computer, open the Private window.
Close the window:
Windows or Chromebook: At the top right, select Close (X).
Mac: At the top left, select Close (X).
