Organisation Import
Overview
The Organisation Import creates Organisations and can fill or update supported details on Organisations already in your account. Astalty validates the rows and shows the proposed changes before you confirm them.
Accessing the Import
Open Settings > Imports, select Create Import, then Organisations. The default Admin role has access.
Completing the Import
- Select Download Template and open the CSV.
- Populate the template and remove the example rows.
- Tick I understand that imports cannot be undone and I want to proceed.
- Choose how Astalty should handle a row that matches an existing Organisation.
- Upload the CSV and select Start Import.
- Review the row statuses, messages, and proposed changes. Correct a row from its three-dot menu when needed.
- Select the rows you want and choose the count-specific confirmation button, such as Import 3 Organisations.
Nothing is created or changed before confirmation. Rows left unticked become Skipped.
Choosing How Matches Are Handled
A row matches an existing Organisation by ID when that column is populated. Otherwise, Astalty matches by Name, ignoring capitalisation and spaces around the name.
- Skip it leaves a matching Organisation unchanged.
- Fill in empty fields adds details only where the existing Organisation has none.
- Update with the file's values replaces supported details, but blank cells do not clear existing details.
- Create a new organisation anyway creates another Organisation with the same name instead of updating the existing one.
Use the Astalty Organisation ID from the Organisations Export when two Organisations have the same name. Leave ID blank for a new Organisation. A row fails if its ID does not belong to an Organisation in your account, or the ID and Name belong to different Organisations.
The import never renames an existing Organisation. Imported Tags are added to its existing Tags; the import does not remove Tags.
Import Requirements
Name is required. When Address 1 is populated, State and Postcode are also required, and State must be a valid Australian state or territory. NDIS Registered accepts Yes, No, Y, or N. Enter multiple Tags as a comma-separated list.

Reviewing and Fixing Rows
The review table identifies rows that are ready, failed, skipped, or matched to an existing Organisation. Check the Details column before confirming because it shows validation messages and the proposed changes to a match.
Organisation rows can be edited while an unarchived import is awaiting confirmation, or while a failed import still contains editable rows. See Fixing Import Rows. After processing, use Actions > Download Failed Rows to correct failed rows in a new import. See Import Results for status meanings and recovery steps.
