Google Calendar

The Google Calendar integration displays selected Google calendars in Astalty and sends Astalty events to one selected main Google calendar. It is a per-user connection and requires access to the Astalty Calendar.

What It Does

  • View existing Google Calendar events inside the Astalty Calendar.
  • Send events created in Astalty to the connected user's main Google calendar.
  • Update or delete the Google copy when the connected user updates or deletes its Astalty event.
  • Create Google Meet meetings and invite attendees from an Astalty event when the main calendar supports meetings.

How It Works

Each user connects their own Google account. Astalty lists only external calendars belonging to that user's connection, and the user chooses which calendars are enabled for display. Existing Google events are read from those calendars when Astalty loads the selected date range. Changes made to those external events in Google are therefore reflected when Astalty fetches them again.

Connecting It

Each user connects Google Calendar from their own My Profile > Integrations tab:

  1. Under Google Integration, select Connect and complete Google's authorisation flow.
  2. Open the user's Calendar tab. Astalty syncs the available Google calendars for that connection.
  3. Select Manage, tick the calendars to display under Enabled Calendars, and choose an editable calendar as Main External Calendar.
  4. Select Update.

Only enabled calendars appear in the Astalty Calendar. Events created in Astalty are sent only to the main external calendar. Without a main calendar, Astalty warns that outbound events, attendee invitations and video calls are unavailable.

Disconnecting or Reconnecting

Open My Profile > Integrations. Select Disconnect on the Google Integration card to stop displaying its calendars and stop sending new Astalty events to Google. If the card shows Invalid, select Reconnect and complete authorisation again rather than disconnecting the connection.
