Handling claim type specific line items

From 1 July 2026, the NDIS Pricing Arrangements introduce claim type specific line items for a number of supports. Instead of using a single line item with the Claim Type selected on the charge, each claim type now has its own line item number, identified by a suffix:

• _CA – Cancellation
• _NF – Non-Face-to-Face
• _PT – Provider Travel
• _RR – NDIA Requested Reports
• _TH – Telehealth

For example, the base item 01_650_0118_1_3 now has variants such as 01_650_0118_1_3_CA (Cancellation) and 01_650_0118_1_3_NF (Non-Face-to-Face).

How Astalty handles these

If you are already using these Charge Items and they were added before 1 July 2026, you don't need to do anything. Astalty will automatically use the correct Support Item Number by adding the matching claim type suffix on any Charges dated on or after 1 July 2026.

If you are adding these Items, you will see each Support Item separately and can add the one you need. When a Charge is added on or after 1 July 2026, its Claim Type is locked to the correct one and the Claim Type cannot be edited from the Charge.

How this appears in the NDIA bulk upload file

When you generate the NDIA bulk upload file, these variant items are reported slightly differently:

• The SupportNumber column carries the claim type as a suffix where one applies (for example, 15_610_0128_1_3_PT for Provider Travel). Direct Service claims keep the base number with no suffix (for example, 15_610_0128_1_3).
• The ClaimType column is left blank for these variant items, because the claim type is already built into the Support Item Number and doesn't need to be claimed twice.

Non-variant items and Charges dated before 1 July 2026 are unchanged — they keep their usual Support Item Number and continue to populate the ClaimType column.
