1 September 2026
In this session, we walk through some of the new features released in Astalty throughout August 2026, covering updates to rostering and support delivery, charges, invoicing and payroll, SMS and chat, and admin and Participant records.
What's Covered
- Qualifications (beta) — require Support Workers to hold current qualifications, such as First Aid or NDIS Worker Screening, before they can be rostered, with a warn or block option.
- Skills (beta) — build a list of worker capabilities and see skill matches when rostering, without ever hiding a worker who doesn't have the skill.
- Support Time Segments (beta) — split a single support's billing across different Charge Item Sets for different time periods.
- No Charge Support Time Segments (beta) — mark a portion of a support as non-billable while pay and shift visibility stay unchanged.
- Service Dates on Support Charges — assign a specific date to individual charges on a support that runs past midnight, instead of inheriting the start date.
- Commenting on Invoices — add an internal comment to an invoice that stays with the record and is never shared with the Participant, Plan Manager or Xero.
- Commenting on Invoice Batches — add the same internal, team-only comments at the invoice batch level.
- QuickBooks Payroll Integration — sync timesheets, leave and pay group mappings directly to QuickBooks Payroll without manual file transfers.
- Service Utilisation Cut-off Now Available to Everyone — block new or increased task charges once a Participant's service funding is fully used, on every account.
- Manual Charges on the Public Holiday Supports Report — see which manually added charges may not reflect public holiday pricing, so nothing bills at the wrong rate.
- Commenting on Shift Broadcasts — leave internal comments on a Shift Board broadcast, on the whole broadcast or an individual worker's row.
- SMS Reminders to Nominated Contacts — route a Participant's SMS reminders to a parent, carer or other contact without adding their number to the Participant's own record.
- Greeting Participants by Their Preferred Name in SMS Reminders — have SMS reminders greet a Participant using their preferred name instead of their legal first name.
- Filtering Your Chat List — filter conversations by Direct or Groups and show unread messages only, to manage a lengthy chat list.
- Chat Message Drafts — have your compose-box text and formatting auto-saved as a draft until you send or clear it.
- Setting a Role and User Groups When Inviting a User — set a new user's role and User Groups at the point of inviting them, rather than afterwards.
- User Groups Clarification — see the clarified definitions of "All Users" and "Team Member" so the right people are reached by each group.
- Astalty for Outlook — log an Astalty task directly from an email in Outlook, without leaving your inbox.
- Referral & Intake Forms and Updating a Participant from a Submission — build custom referral forms and update an existing Participant's profile straight from a submission.
- Getting Help Updates — see every way to contact Astalty support and what you'll be asked, in one guide.
