NDIA Brokerage Process
Managing Brokerage Agreements
Some of Astalty's users work under a brokerage agreement for their NDIA-managed Participants.
Generally, these agreements are worked out with the broker receiving a % of the income in return for the user to operate under their registration.
Brokerage arrangements vary. The following workflow shows how Astalty's bulk upload and reconciliation functions can be used when the parties have agreed that process.
Management Type
Set the relevant Participants to NDIA managed before creating the bulk upload file.
Generate the Bulk Upload File
Create an Invoice Batch for the NDIA-managed Participants, then generate the Bulk Upload File.
Send the File to the Broker
Send the bulk upload file to the broker so they can submit it through the NDIA portal. After the claim is processed, obtain the receipt file from the broker.
If you are the authorised portal user, you can instead download the NDIA Receipt File from PRODA.
Reconcile Within Astalty
Upload the receipt file to reconcile payments and review rejected claims. See Reconciling NDIA Payments.
Create an Invoice for the Brokerage Fee
If the agreed process requires an invoice between the parties, create it in your accounting system using the amount and treatment required by the brokerage agreement. Astalty does not calculate the brokerage fee or create this invoice.
Astalty records the claim results applied from the receipt file. Use your accounting system and the parties' agreed records for the separate brokerage transaction.
