# How Do I Charge for Travel in Company Vehicles?

> Charge Participants for kilometres in a company vehicle without reimbursing the worker.

Scheduling add-on - This feature requires the Scheduling add-on, which is available on Astalty Premium. See How to enable Scheduling.

## Overview

When a Support Worker uses a **company vehicle**, your billing arrangement may charge the Participant for kilometres without paying a worker kilometre allowance. Astalty stores charge and pay behaviour separately so you can record that setup.

Charging kilometres requires the matching Travel Charge Item on the support's Charge Item Set.

Astalty stores **charge behaviour** for Participant billing separately from **pay behaviour** for worker payment.

> **Ad-hoc travel? Set it at approval**
>
> For travel that wasn't scheduled on the shift, you can decide whether to charge the Participant and whether to pay the worker for kilometres when you approve it - no need to configure it in advance. See [Ad-hoc Travel Kilometre Pay and Charge](https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/scheduling/shift-approvals#ad-hoc-travel-kilometre-pay-and-charge).
