[Flagged Notes](https://app.astalty.com.au/notifications/flagged-notes) notifications alert your team when a [note checker](https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/settings/note-flagging) flags a note, so a coordinator can review it without watching the report.

## Overview

A notification is sent each time a note checker flags a Participant or task note, for either kind of checker: content that is present, or expected content that is missing. Flags raised by **Check Existing Notes** never send notifications, so checking historical notes doesn't flood your team.

Only Admins can manage these notifications. This can't be changed per user.

## Where to Find It

1. Go to [Notifications](https://app.astalty.com.au/notifications) in the main menu.
2. Under the **Participants** group, select **Flagged Notes**. You can also type `flagged` into **Search notifications**.

## Creating the Notification

On the Flagged Notes Notifications page, click **Create Notification** and complete the form.

### Note Checker

Choose a **Note Checker (optional)** to send this notification only for flags raised by that checker. Leave it blank to send it for every flagged note. Use one notification per checker when different teams look after different checkers, for example safeguarding flags to a clinical lead and incomplete-note flags to a rostering team.

### Notification Email Content

Optional content added to the body of the email when **Email** is a delivery method.

### Notification Recipients

Choose who should receive the notification. You must select at least one recipient.

- **Primary Coordinator** - the Primary Coordinator of the Participant the note belongs to. Not ticked by default.
- **Service Coordinator** - the Service Coordinator of each Service on that Participant's current plan. Not ticked by default.
- **User Groups** - notify everyone in the selected [User Groups](https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/settings/users-settings/user-groups). The **All Users** and **Support Worker** groups aren't offered.
- **Users** - notify specific users directly.

The coordinator options only apply to notes linked to a Participant. For other notes, only your selected groups and users are notified.

> **Team Member group**
>
> The **Team Member** User Group covers users with the Team Member role only. Admins and Managers are **not** included, so select the **Admin** and **Manager** groups as well to reach them.

### Notification Methods

- **Within Astalty** - recipients are notified inside Astalty. Ticked by default.
- **Email** - recipients are notified by email. Ticked by default.

Click **Add Notification** to save.

## Managing the Notification

The list shows each notification's **Note Checker**, **Delivery** and **Recipients**. Use the actions menu on a notification to **Edit**, **Clone** or **Delete** it. **Delete** is also in the **Edit** view.

A flag matches every notification set to its checker and every notification left blank, so overlapping notifications each send.

## What Recipients See

- **In Astalty** - a notification titled **New flagged note**, saying which checker flagged the note, with a **View flagged note** link.
- **Email** - the subject is **New flagged note**. The email names the checker, quotes the excerpt of the note that matched when there is one, adds any content you entered, and has a **View flagged note** button. Because the excerpt is note content, choose email recipients who may read it.

Deactivated users are skipped, even if they are in a selected group, and a user who qualifies more than once gets one notification.
