# Bulk Upload File

> Generate the NDIA bulk upload file for payment of NDIA-managed charges.

Generate an NDIA bulk upload CSV from a finalised Invoice Batch, then upload that unchanged file to the NDIA portal to submit the batch's NDIA managed claims.

## View the finalised Invoice Batch

Open the finalised batch from the [Invoice Batches page](https://app.astalty.com.au/finance/invoice-batches).

![The Invoice Batches page searched for B-90006, with an arrow pointing to the batch reference B-90006 on a row with the Finalised status, its Created date and its Total and Outstanding amounts.](https://docs.astalty.com.au/assets/view-the-finalised-invoice-batch.png)

## Download the Bulk Upload file

If the batch has NDIA managed charges, select **Generate Bulk Upload**. Astalty downloads the CSV for you to upload to the portal.

If the batch has any payments recorded, Astalty asks which file to generate:

- **Original** includes all NDIA claims in the batch.
- **Outstanding** includes only claims that are not fully paid and uses the outstanding amount for each included line.

If the batch has no payments, Astalty generates the Original file without asking.

> **Check partially paid lines in an Outstanding file**
>
> The Outstanding calculation can round an adjusted unit price down for a partially paid line with more than one unit. This can make the file claim less than the amount actually outstanding.
>
> Keep the downloaded file untouched. Make a separate copy for review, open only that copy, and do not save it. Compare each partially paid line's quantity multiplied by its unit price with the remaining balance in Astalty. If an amount does not match, do not upload the file. Contact [Astalty support](mailto:support@astalty.com.au) to confirm how to submit that claim.

> **Do not open the file**
>
> Do not open the file you plan to upload. You do not need to open the file to save it - your computer will automatically save it to your Downloads folder.
>
> Astalty generates the CSV with the date values the portal requires. Upload the downloaded file without editing or resaving it. If you need to inspect or alter the file, check the current import guidance for Excel and the portal first.

> **Provider ABN**
>
> The Provider ABN is only required when claiming for plan-managed services through Bulk Upload. As Astalty only claims for NDIA managed services in Bulk Upload, this column will remain blank in the Bulk Upload file.

> **Claim type specific line items**
>
> From 1 July 2026, some supports have a separate line item for each claim type. For these items the claim type is included as a suffix on the Support Number and the Claim Type column is left blank. See [Handling claim type specific line items](https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/charge-items/managing-charge-items/handling-claim-type-specific-line-items) for the full list of affected items.

## Reconciling NDIA payments

Once the bulk upload process has been completed, you can import the results file into Astalty and Astalty will reconcile each NDIA managed charge for you. See [Reconciling NDIA Payments](https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/finance/payments/reconciling-ndia).
