# Participant Tags Export

Source: https://docs.astalty.com.au/guide/exports/participant-tags-export

> Export a full list of Participant tags to see how they are used across your organisation.

## Overview

The **Participant Tags Export** allows users to export a complete list of all Participant Tags created in Astalty. This export provides visibility over how Tags are being used across your organisation.

Participant Tags are commonly used to group Participants by funding type, service category, priority level, location, internal workflows, or other operational needs. Over time, tagging structures can expand and become harder to manage.

This export helps you:

- **Maintain strong data governance**. Review all Tags in one place to check naming conventions.
- **Identify duplicates or unused Tags**. Compare Participant counts to find low-use Tags.
- **Maintain visual consistency**. Review each Tag's colour value.
- **Support audits**. Use creation dates to see when Tags were added.

## Creating an Export

To generate the export, head to the [Exports](https://app.astalty.com.au/exports) page, select **Create Export**, and choose **Participant Tags** under **Participants**, or go directly to [Create Participant Tags Export](https://app.astalty.com.au/exports/create/participant-tags).

Select **Create Export**. No filters are available, so the CSV contains every Participant Tag in name order.

## Downloading the Export

When the export is ready it will appear on the [Exports](https://app.astalty.com.au/exports) page where you can click on **Download** to save it to your device.

> **Export taking longer than expected?**
>
> All exports run in the background. If the export takes at least 20 seconds to become ready, Astalty also emails you. Download it from the Exports page.

## Exported Fields

The exported CSV file will include the following information:

- **UUID**: the Tag's unique Astalty identifier.
- **Name**: the Tag name.
- **Colour**: the stored colour value.
- **Participant Count**: how many Participants are associated with the Tag.
- **Created Date**: the date the Tag was added, in your provider timezone.

By regularly reviewing this export, you can ensure your Participant Tag structure remains organised, relevant, and aligned with your operational needs.
